From here you walk through the flower bulb fields around Egmond aan den Hoef. The stately surroundings of Kasteel Egmond in Egmond aan den Hoef enjoy a protected village view. From 1129 to 1798 there was a fortress here. In the thirties of the last century the remains were found in the swamp, these can still be visited. The thirteenth-century castle chapel is still standing! In any case, it is a beautiful spot. You walk back through the North Holland Dune Reserve, which consists of an alternation of dune tops, woods and an unprecedented silence. Due to the enormous variety of plant and animal species, this elongated nature reserve is a rarity in Europe. Ideal to completely clear your head and recharge your batteries.
