Tour of Beemster, De Rijp and Castricum

Your route starts at EuroParcs De Woudhoeve, it is not possible to park your car here. This route takes you – through beautiful old Alkmaar! - past the most beautiful and historic farms of the Beemster World Heritage Site. Get off at the church of the De Noordeinder Vermaning Foundation. In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, Mennonites formed the largest population group here. They did not know trained preachers, but teachers or exhortators. The history of the former fishing village of De Rijp has been beautifully preserved. A good example of this is the old Town Hall where the tourist office is now located. Cycle through polder landscapes and look out over the old and new land of the Schermer and the Beemster. You cycle via the Uitgeestermeer to the pleasant Castricum. Here you dive into the North Holland Dune Reserve, back to square one.
