Description
We have combined two Dutch icons into a cycling route. Along the way you will enjoy the landscape, the water and you will pass nice places. How nice is it to cycle from Delft to the tulip fields in the spring and to the dahlias in the Bulb Region in late summer and autumn.
This route is 113 km long. The intention is that you cycle there in 1 day (54 km) and then spend the night somewhere in the Bulb Region in one of the nice B&B\\\'s or hotels, such as Van Der Valk in Sassenheim , B&B Pergamo , B&B De Groene bollenschuur.
If you start in the Bulb Region, you will spend the night in Delft in one of the nice hotels or B&Bs. Such as the WestCordHotel and Hotel Johannes Vermeer . During your bike tour you will visit the Royal Delft museum in Delft and the beautiful Delft blue vase at LandArtDelft. This Tulip Pyramid Vase is 12 meters high. The largest in the world! NB!!! The museum and LandartDelft are not located on a junction route. you deviate from the route briefly between 1 and 8. Otherwise you will miss these two beautiful sights.
De Porceleyne Fles - Royal Delft has been creating Delft blue since 1653. During a visit you will discover various crafts in the factory, in the painting room and in the museum. (with a museum annual pass you have free admission).
In late summer and autumn you can admire the dahlias at De Tulperij. There is a show garden with more than 600 varieties of dahlias and a dahlia picking garden. You can take a cycling stop and enjoy all the floral splendor from the terrace. The Tulperij is not open all year round. For the correct opening dates and times, check the De Tulperij website.
