Tour of Kolkven from Moergestel

Your route starts at ROOT Eet- en Borrelhuys. First you take the path along the Reusel. It is a quiet walk along this stream, while you look out over the grasslands. On a car-free road you then walk between the fields and meadows. A little later you dive into the forests and walk at your leisure along the Brandven. The water from this fen was used in the past to extinguish fires. The Kolkven is the largest fen in the Oisterwijk forests. This fen was not blown out by polar winds, but eroded by the swirling water of an old meltwater river. At junction 2 you pass Zandstraat 5, an authentic small farm from the beginning of the nineteenth century. The building is in the top 100 of national monuments!
