Description
Between the Dutch Weert and the Belgian Maaseik lies a unique nature reserve: Grenspark Kempen-Broek. In this border park you drive through a series of different landscapes. At your starting point you will learn all about it, in the Environmental Education Centre. Then you can enjoy beautiful views of the IJzeren Man, a recreational lake. The Laurabossen is a former logging forest. Between the many conifers you will experience a wonderfully refreshing silence. The Wijffelterbroek was once part of a large border swamp. A perfect area for smugglers, now you can enjoy beautiful views on a winding path. At the Pruiskesweg, stop at the picnic bench in the bend in the road, with a beautiful view of a fen.
