Tour of the Twickel Estate and Delden

Your route starts at Eetcafe-Cafetaria't Zumpke for a cup of coffee. The farms that belong to the Twickel Estate can be recognized by their white shutters with black edges. The estate also has a castle, the oldest parts of which date from the mid-sixteenth century. The castle is inhabited by a noble family and cannot be visited. But beautiful! In the former fortified town of Delden you will discover beautiful remains of the past. From the Langestraat, for example, take a look at De Kroon (Markt 1), a monumental house from 1764. Get off at junction 74. The Noordmolen, dating from 1325, is located on the Oelerbeek. This was once a double water mill, but now only the oil mill remains, which is used to press oil from rapeseed and linseed.
