Description

The Gat van Waalre (officially De Meeris) was created by excavation for the nearby A2 highway.
There is a residential area south of the lake, and forest area on the east side.
The Station Coffee House, starting point of this walking tour, has existed since 1868. At the time, it was a farm that was renamed a café where entrepreneurs, traders and train employees met. The current building was built in 1930, which has had various functions since then: café, restaurant, liquor store, transport company, lodging and nowadays a brasserie.

Tour tip; Hiking with kids! Routes up to 5 km are ideal
