Description

Your route starts at Restaurant de Luchte. From here you can walk to Leuvenheim, for a discovery of special historical places on the edge of the Veluwezoom. At the back of the picture you will discover Huis De Rees, a stately building that dates from 1833. A defensible manor stood here as early as 1642, a fief of the Duchy of Guelders, complete with a moat and a gate tower with a drawbridge. You walk back via De Geldersche Toren, a large round tower. This is already mentioned in 1535 in a piece by the Duke Karel van Gelre, Count of Zutphen, about the new construction of the tower. It can be concluded from the text that there was even a tower before that, but from which year it dates is not known.
