Tour of Biesbosch and Werkendam

The Biesbosch is one of the few freshwater areas in the world where there is an ebb and flow. Visual artist Paul de Kort has incorporated this in a beautiful way in De Wassende Maan. This work of art consists of water channels and dikes and looks different every time due to the influence of the weather, the tide and the seasons. Climb the landscaped hill on the Bandijk to discover the work of art. From the dike you have beautiful views over the many waters and meadows. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the osprey and white-tailed eagle that occasionally come to hunt here.
