E-bike route Amersfoort and Nijkerk

From here you make a nice loop to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, via the beautiful old center of Amersfoort. The Leusderheide has managed to keep its original appearance because it is also used as a military training area. The construction of ecoducts will allow badgers, lizards and foxes to enter and leave the area safely. Vast moors and open sandy plains alternate with deciduous and coniferous forests. Sights in this area include a curtis, Poorthuis Ruiterberg (of which Simon Vestdijk's novella'De Zwarte Ruiter\\\' suggests that the book was written there - something that is not the case), and estate Den Treek, located in the border area of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and the Gelderse Vallei.
