E-bike route Gelderse Vallei from Nijkerk

The Gelderse Vallei around Nijkerk is wonderful for cycling thanks to endless views, historical sights and a refreshing silence. At junction 52 you will see the Arkersluis. A little further on is the beautiful eighteenth-century Sluishuis, the former lock keeper's house. You drive a few kilometers along the Zeedijk, a name that remains from the period when the Zuiderzee lapped and pounded on the land here. On the left is the tamed water of the Nuldernauw, on the right you look out over part of the fourteenth-century Arkemheenpolder, one of the oldest in the Netherlands. You also pass through the Appelsche Heide, a forest and heath area where wild gale and juniper also grow.
