Description

Your route starts at Camping de Vinkenkamp. From here you walk to De Alba, a lake that was created by the excavation of sand-lime brick from 1906 by the brick factory of the same name. Alba means white in Latin and refers to the white sand that was used for the sand-lime brick. The export took place via the opposite Apeldoorn canal, which you walk along a little later, and a narrow gauge railway to the Dieren - Apeldoorn railway line. The exploitation has now been completed and the extraction area has been converted into a nature reserve. Now you will find a beautiful estate with protected nature. Then you walk along the leafy banks of the Apeldoorn Canal. The waterway was commissioned in 1868 and still plays an important role in local water management.
