Description

Your route starts at Camping de Vinkenkamp. From here you can walk to the beautiful nature around the Oosterhuizer Spreng, a source stream dug by people. In the Veluwe they were often used to drive water mills, where paper was made, such as on the Vrijenbergerspreng. Further on you will come across another special piece of history: the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij. Here runs the tourist steam train that commutes between Apeldoorn and Dieren. In 1887, the Dieren-Apeldoorn-Zwolle line was built on the initiative of King Willem III. The railway gave an impulse to the paper industry and it was a nice bonus that he could commute between Paleis het Loo and Hof te Dieren, a favorite country house. A special station was even built at the palace. You walk back from the Halte Immenbergweg.
