The Four Days in Nijmegen consists of four days of walking pleasure in the wide area of the city of Nijmegen. You walk through Gelderland, Brabant and Limburg. Every day there is a different place in the Nijmegen area.

The first day of the Four Days Marches is called the Day of Elst. The route takes you through the Betuwe and the Gelderland village of Elst, north of Nijmegen. For the route of 30, 40 and 50 kilometers, Elst is the main transit point. At the beginning and at the end of the day you walk across the Waal bridge. You will also walk through Huissen and Arnhem before heading towards Elst. The municipality of Elst is determined to make it a fantastic party during the Day of Elst and you will be welcomed by the mayor of Elst. Furthermore, you can enjoy music in Elst and an enthusiastic crowd on the side. There is no lack of atmosphere in the Betuwe. You couldn't wish for a better start to the Four Days Marches. The last part of the course is formed by the dike between Oosterhout and Lent, traditionally a tough stretch. From here you can already see the railway bridge and later the Waal bridge in the distance. Don't let that fool you, you will then have to walk for over an hour. You end the day at the cozy Wedren.
