The picnic areas were designed by Joke de Witte (1950-2015). The idea behind it is a tourist who is a stranger in this environment. So are the art picnic spots, strangers in their environment. Foreigners experience the landscape differently than residents. They share that experience with the residents and so the circle is complete.
