Dordrecht, South Holland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 2654313
Provided by: route.nl
From your starting point just below Dordrecht you first cycle through the Nieuwe Dordtse Biesbosch, on the Island of Dordrecht. Persistent western storms sometimes push up the water, causing the water level to rise in the Biesbosch. It can sometimes get very wet, especially on the Island of Dordrecht. Then you take a trip with the ferry to Kop van 't Land to the heart of the area: the National Park with the Biesbosch Museum and the Visitor Center. The Biesbosch is one of the few freshwater tidal areas in Europe. The St. Elizabeth's Flood of 1421 turned the polder into an inland sea and the water from the Maas and the Waal also had an influence on the area. Winding cycle paths lead you right through it. Get off at Snackpoint Lené in Nieuwendijk before cycling back!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
