Put on your sturdy walking shoes for a trip around Ursem. First you take a tour around the beautiful Mijzenpolder. This area was created around the year 1000. However, the reclamation and associated drainage led to subsidence of the peat, increasing the risk of flooding. The polders have been diked since the thirteenth century. You walk along Schermerhorn, here you can take a look at the old church. A new loop follows and takes you through Ursem and Rustenburg. At junction 56, turn right a short distance if you want to take a look at three old polder mills: the Strijkmolens I, K and L.
