Tour around Castricum

This route takes you through the Castricum area. First you drive through the North Holland Dune Reserve. You will have no trouble understanding why the Dutch dunes are among the most beautiful in the world. Here you will find a variety between forest and dunes covered with grass and shrubs. From the cycle path you can enjoy this natural beauty for many kilometers. And the soothing silence! Below Castricum you cycle through a vast landscape of fields and meadows. You pass through Limmen, furthermore you make a stop at Oesdom coffee & shop. This dismount is located on the grounds of Our Lady of Need, the largest Marian pilgrimage site in the Netherlands. The route ends at Egmond Abbey, whose origins date back to the tenth century.
