Round Kampina and the Mortelen

With this route you get to know the varied nature between Oisterwijk and Oirschot. You start the route at the edge of the Kampina. This vast nature reserve consists of a mix of heathland and coniferous forests. It is wonderfully quiet cycling here. Just past junction 9 you cross the Beerze and continue cycling through the Brabant farmland. Occasionally you pass an old long-gabled farm. Just before junction 16 you cycle into the Mortelen. In this small-scale bocage landscape you will see moist poplar groves, dry coniferous forests and grass and arable land. The landscape is reminiscent of the Brabant farmland before the land consolidations, so before 1950. At Hoeve 1827 you can make a pit stop on the cozy terrace before you drive back to the Kampina.
