Tour of Sevenum and Mariapeel

You take a trip to the Peel area on the border of Limburg and North Brabant. Just before you cycle out of Sevenum, you will see the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe-ter-Noodkapel on Den Eigen on your left. The building dates from 1676. Further on you cycle through the forests of the Steegberg. Helenaveen is one of two peat colonies in the south of the Netherlands. The authentic village enjoys a protected village view. You then cycle between the Mariapeel (on the right, located in Limburg) and the Deurnsche Peel (which is located in Brabant). These nature reserves are remnants of a gigantic primeval landscape of living raised peat. At the end of the path is Griendtsveen, that other Brabant peat colony. You cycle to Sevenum via America and the humid forests of the Heesbeemden.
