Description
From Landhuishotel and Bistro Herikerberg you cycle through the gently rolling Twente coulisselandscape to Diepenheim. On the edge of this village you pass Huis te Diepenheim, a centuries-old manor house. Further on lies Kasteel Warmelo, the gardens of which can be visited. On the other side of Diepenheim you can take a look at two more manors: Pekkedam and Kasteel Nijenhuis. Further on lies Kasteel Weldam, the estate of which officially extends to the Herikerberg. Here too, the gardens are accessible for a fee. In Bentelo, stop off at Spoolder Proeven & Proosten! You cycle a bit along the Twentekanaal, a waterway from 1938 that connects Almelo, Enschede and Hengelo to the national network of rivers and canals. Through the countryside of Goor you cycle back to the Herikerberg.
