The Railway House Uithoorn The Cycle Route

From Uithoorn you can cycle straight into the polder. This route takes you along both banks of the Kromme Mijdrecht: a reasonably well-preserved peat catchment area. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful regions in the Netherlands. Here you can enjoy typical Dutch views. You see boats bobbing on the rippling water, neatly arranged meadows with cows, willows, reed beds, mills and old farms. What more could you wish for as a cyclist? You also cycle through De Hoef and Woerdense Verlaat, a hamlet that was built around a lock that originally dates from the fifteenth century. The last few kilometres you cycle along the Amstelkade and the Zijdelmeer, a park on the edge of Uithoorn. After getting off, you can enjoy a delicious meal at Het Spoorhuis Uithoorn.
