Description

From café d\\\'n Overkant you walk a bit through the village and then cross the Bels Lijntje (former railway Tilburg-Turnhout). You will now enter a rural, agricultural area called the Spanish Corner. This hamlet owes its name to a Spanish army camp that was located here because of the siege of Breda. Think of the period 1625-1626. Then we walk to Het Zandeind, a triangular square. A so-called Frankish Triangle. Via the road Gilze-Riel we arrive again in the built-up area of Riel. But just in front of that, we see on the right a remnant of the old flour mill from 1837. In Riel you can also see former tanneries. They were there because of the many oak trees and the river De Leij. We end this short walk at café D\\\'n Overkant.
Across the street from this cafe, the walk starts to another beautiful nature reserve: De Regte Hei.

Tour tip; Hiking with kids! Routes up to 5 km are ideal
