Tour of Grubbenvorst and Wanssum

From Grubbenvorst you drive into the countryside. You pass Huis De Steegh, a mansion from 1750. Further on you pass Kaldenbroek Castle, a sixteenth-century mansion. You then drive a few kilometers through the coniferous forests of the Houthuizerheide and the Tienrayse Heide. Just past Tienray you cycle along the Diepeling. Sand and gravel have been extracted here for decades, the area will soon be developed as a nature reserve. You drive through charming Oostrum, further away are the forests of Landgoed Geysteren. In Wanssum it is time for a pit stop. Enjoy a snack and conviviality on the terrace at Cafe van Wieren, before continuing to Blitterswijck. You will pass Broekhuizen, further on you will take a trip to the east bank of the Maas. The route ends in Grubbenvorst.
