Tour of Maasduinen National Park

From Wanssum you drive to the Maas. You cross the river, after which you drive for many kilometers along vast meadows. Every now and then you look out over the Maas, such as around Aijen. In picturesque Bergen you will pass the Old Tower. This ruin originally dates from the thirteenth century. In 1944 the tower was destroyed by war. You enter Maasduinen National Park via Afferden. This is the longest river dune belt in the Netherlands. You drive many kilometers through a varied landscape of vast forests, heathlands and fens. What is also striking here: the tranquility. Now that's fun! At Wellerlooi you cross the Maas again with a ferry. Via Blitterswijck you drive to Cafe van Wieren. Time for a nice terrace!
