Tour of Markelo and Achterhoek

With this route you drive for a few hours through the rural area of Markelo and Laren. Furthermore, there are no villages or towns on your route: it will be a wonderfully quiet day! First you cycle through the Achterhoek. Here you can enjoy a varied landscape of fields, winding streams, vast meadows and small forests. Every now and then you drive past a typical beautiful Saxon farm. In Markelo you can admire the Martinus Church from 1840. Get off at Grand Cafe De Kroon for a snack and drink before continuing your cycle. You pass through the picturesque hamlet of Stokkum, further on you drive along the Schipbeek and the Twentekanaal. In Laren you can take a look at the Waterstaat Church from 1835.
