Tour of Markelo and Achterhoek

With this route you cycle for a few hours through the rural surroundings of Markelo and Laren. There are no villages or towns on your route: that will be a wonderfully quiet day! First you cycle through the Achterhoek. Here you can enjoy a varied landscape of fields, winding streams, vast meadows and small forests. Every now and then you cycle past such a typical beautiful Saxon farm. In Markelo you can admire the Martinus church from 1840. Stop at Grand Cafe De Kroon for a bite to eat and a drink, before you cycle on. You pass through the picturesque hamlet of Stokkum, further on you cycle along the Schipbeek and the Twentekanaal. In Laren you can take a look at the water board church from 1835.
