Tour of Elp and Elperstroom area

Walking in Drenthe guarantees nature and culture! This is also the case with this walk. First, you walk a bit through the Elperstroomgebied. Make sure you wear sturdy and waterproof shoes, because you are walking through an untouched stream valley! This Natura 2000 area also consists of wooded banks, groves and old grasslands that are not fertilized: a rarity in the Netherlands. You will also see special plants here, such as the endangered dioecious sedge. In addition to the natural beauty, you can also enjoy the silence and fresh air here. The second part of the walk takes you along a car-free road along fields and meadows. You also walk a bit through Elp, an esdorp where you can still see some beautiful old farms. The route ends with a tasty treat at Pancake restaurant De Strohoed.
