Description

A dolmen is a megalithic (Greek: mega = large, lithos = stone) stone chamber from prehistoric times that consists of standing supporting stones, covered by flat covering stones. The dolmens in the Netherlands were built in the New Stone Age, but they were used until approximately 2850 BC.
This route takes you past various dolmens in the extensive nature reserve between Borger and Emmen.
