Given that the Antwerp Port Arrow is celebrating its silver jubilee in 2015, we would like to looking back at the previous editions. The basis of the current competition was already laid in the year 1985 when the supporters club van Glenn Huybrechts organized a cycling race for newcomers in honor of his rider in Schoten (Verbertstraat) under the name Grand Prix Glenn Huybrechts.
A few years later, in 1989 at to be, some hit board members of the above-mentioned supporters club and from Royal Antwerp Bicycle Club join hands for the setting up a competition for enthusiasts/amateurs (now elite and promises without contract). This mainly due to the lack of international interclub competitions for enthusiasts in the province Antwerp. No ordinary local competition'for the church tower\\\' but a match with a large circuit through the Antwerp Kempen. They pulled up to Hoogstraten and then past Powderlee, Vorselaar, Zandhoven and Halle return to Schoten to participate in the final contest with three local rounds (165 km).
To achieve this, non-profit organization Het Klein Verzet was founded. Due to the death of Louis Schollaert, founder treasurer of vzw Het Klein Verzet, three weeks before the match, the challenge cup, awarded to the best club, was named after him.
