Description

Via's-Gravenvelden you drive to Moelingen and the Meschermolen, a watermill dating from 1699 on the Dutch part of the Voer. The mill has been made operational again. A little later you cross the Maas, which forms a natural border between Belgium and the Netherlands. You follow the winding waters of Le Geer and then deviate to Fort Eben-Emael, known as 'the giant among forts'. The Belgian army built this colossus with an area of 150 football fields in 1932-1935. The Germans managed to take it in 1940 with an explosive, thorough and daring attack plan. You cycle back via the Jekerdal and the Sint Pietersberg. Get off at the viewpoint over the ENCI Groeve!
