Cross-border tour of Kempen: Postel and Reusel

You start the bike tour in small Postel, known for its Premonstratensian abbey. It was founded in the twelfth century and is still known for its hospitality. The community of brothers now has about 20 Premonstratensians. You cross the border here almost unnoticed: in both the Belgian and Brabant Kempen you can enjoy the rural roads, dense forests and tiny hamlets. The border region was a popular smuggling area at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century. It was located on an important connecting route between 's-Hertogenbosch and Leuven. Take a break in Reusel at Brasserie & Ijssalon You & Me, they have delicious ice creams here! And when you return, reward yourself with a delicious abbey beer from Gasthof de Beiaard, on the grounds of the abbey.
