Description
Via the cross-border Nature Park Plateaux-Hageven you cycle to the Venbergsemolen. The first mention dates from 1227. At that time the mill was owned by a sister order. The Venbergsemolen fell into disrepair and was extensively restored in 1895 and 1977. The mill runs regularly in the summer, but it no longer really grinds. Afterwards you will discover Valkenhorst with its bird sanctuary. It is named after the falcons that used to be caught here to be sold to noble courts at home and abroad. Hence the name of nearby Valkenswaard. Boswachterij het Leenderbos is a reclamation forest: one of the first forests that was deliberately created as a recreational area. And you can see that!
