Your cycling route starts in Sibbe. At the village of Wolfshuis you pass the Van Tienhoven mill from 1855. It is the only mill in the Netherlands that is built entirely in marl. After Cadier en Keer you cross the elongated Savelsbos, in this sloped forest you mainly see deciduous trees such as pedunculate oak, beech, maple and horse chestnut. In Gronsveld, get off at De Kwizzenjèr. Further on you pass the castle Sint Gerlach, which was built as a monastery in the twelfth century. It was not until the nineteenth century that the monastery was converted into a castle. Then you cycle through Ingendael: a wonderfully quiet nature reserve with flowery grasslands through which the Geul meanders. Stop in Valkenburg to get a taste of the atmosphere and perhaps pay a visit to the ruins of Valkenburg Castle.
