Tour of Maastricht and Maasvallei from Eijsden

Your route starts in Eijsden. Here you immediately see monumental mansions on the Diepstraat and the old Maaskade. On the other side of the Maas you cycle through the Flemish border village of Kanne, with a view of the Sint-Pietersberg. Drive past the vineyards around the Jeker river into the old city center of Maastricht. Onze Lieve Vrouweplein is a beautiful spot in the oldest part of the city, with the impressive Basilica of Our Lady. There was a small church here in the 5th century, probably the oldest Christian church in the Netherlands, built on top of the remains of a Roman temple. From the thirteenth-century Sint-Servaas Bridge, the oldest bridge in the Netherlands, you have a beautiful view of the city and the Maas. Get off at De Kwizzenjèr in Gronsveld!
