Time on the heath.
Beautiful pine forests and extensive mixed forests characterise the Dahlener Heide nature reserve, which covers more than 150 square metres. The starting point for a pleasant walk with the whole family is the state-approved health resort of Schmannewitz near the heath town of Dahlen. The centre of the forest area, the hunter's oak, can be reached via well-marked paths. The memorial column standing here is one of the most famous hiking destinations in the Dahlener Heide and was erected in 1763 in memory of and tribute to the Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, Friedrich August. Along the Reudnitz pond chain, an idyllic nature reserve with a rich flora and fauna, you can discover many natural monuments.
