Description

First you walk to the Heidekamppark, a nature reserve that was opened in 2014. The landscape is wide, the historic cattle embankments and country weather have been preserved. This park is also called the pearl in the Meuse valley. Further on you walk along the Juliana Canal that was opened in 1935. You cross the water, after which you walk through the countryside, all the way to the Maas, which forms the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. You walk through the old center of Urmond. The area around the ancient Terpkerk is a protected village view. In Urmond, on the right of Molenweg, you can see the Bokkenrijders Chapel from 1755. Between 1760 and 1770, Bokkenrijders held meetings here.
