You will encounter plenty of history on this tour. In Moergestel you will pass a centuries-old nameless flour mill, and a little further on is the St. John's Church. Oisterwijk received city rights as early as the thirteenth century. You can see the rich history when you cycle across De Lind, the old marketplace that has the status of a protected cityscape. In the Oisterwijk forests it is beautiful to cycle between coniferous and deciduous trees. You will have no trouble switching back here. On the Beerze you pass the Spoordonkse Watermolen, a photogenic spot. Further on you will pass the Chapel of the Sacred Oak in the middle of the forest. In 1406, two shepherds are said to have found a statue of Mary in the De Beerze stream and placed it in an oak tree. Stop off at De Rozephoeve along the way!
