Description

Straight roads at right angles to each other, peat colonies that have grown into villages.
This route takes you to Dalen, Dalerpeel and Coevorden.

In Dalen you will pass the beautiful monumental Reformed Church of the fifteenth century. Here you will also see the Bente mill, a flour mill from 1814.

The area around Dalerpeel still exudes the atmosphere of Drenthe from the time of the large peat bogs. You can still smell the fresh sour air of the peat here.

Historical Coevorden has a lot to offer. On the edge of the city you will see De Arend, a flour mill from 1894.

Coevorden is an old fortified town that was once in a strategic location on the route from Groningen to Münster.
The star-shaped city canal, the street structure and historic buildings: they date from the period after the city fire of 1592. Don't miss the impressive Reformed Church from 1641.
