Tour of Egheria and Lutterzand estate

Your route starts at Pannenkoekhoes De Stroper. From here you can walk straight onto the wooded Egheria Estate. You have beautiful vistas over the meadows, you also see some characteristic Twente farms. The estate is located around the Tankenberg: with its 85 meters, this hill is the highest point in Overijssel. In the Lutterzand, nature suddenly changes drastically. Sand drifts, heaths and forests with birch and oak that are intersected by the Dinkel. This ancient river winds its way through the Lutterzand and moves up to half a meter every year, pushing through the sand. The steep banks along the stream serve as a nesting place for the sand martin. Due to the special composition of the Lutterzand, the area was designated a geological monument in 2007.
