Cycling along the lakes near Leimuiden

Around Leimuiden you cycle past vast grasslands and lakes. The Braassemermeer is the first on your route. On the banks you will see the Geestmolen, a polder mill from 1707. Further on you can take a trip through the tulip village of Roelofarendsveen: a quarter of all Dutch tulips come from here. You drive along the Leidse Vaart to Langeraar. You cycle along the old Kerkpad between the Langeraarse Plassen, where you have beautiful views. Further on you will pass the Westeinderplassen. Here you pass the Fort at Kudelstaart, a fortress from the Amsterdam defense line. A little further on there is a monumental water tower from 1928. In Aalsmeer you cycle along the Uiterweg, where you will see some monumental nineteenth-century farms. The route ends with a delicious meal on the cozy terrace of Prik & Proost.
