Cycling along the lakes near Leimuiden

Around Leimuiden you cycle along vast grasslands and lakes. The Braassemermeer is the first on your route. On the banks you will see the Geestmolen, a polder mill from 1707. Further on you will make a trip through the tulip village of Roelofarendsveen: a quarter of all Dutch tulips come from here. Along the Leidse Vaart you cycle to Langeraar. Over the old Kerkpad you cycle between the Langeraarse Plassen, you have beautiful views here. Further on you come along the Westeinderplassen. Here you pass the Fort bij Kudelstaart, a fortress from the Defence Line of Amsterdam. A little further on there is a monumental water tower from 1928. In Aalsmeer you cycle over the Uiterweg, you will see several monumental nineteenth-century farms here. The route ends with a delicious meal on the cozy terrace of Prik & Proost.
