Cycling through water-rich South Holland

From Noorden you cycle to Woerdense Verlaat, a hamlet that originated around a lock in the Grecht. Further on you follow the road that runs along the meandering Meije. Along this river you see pollard willows, farms and the almost sixty meter high white water tower from 1932. You cycle a bit along the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, after which you arrive in Ter Aar. Time for a nice coffee at MEEK Coffee & Foods. Via Langeraar you cycle to Bilderdam. On the towpath you cycle a bit along the Drecht and, after you have passed the Tolhuissluis from 1823, along the Amstel. From the saddle you have a beautiful view over the vast polders. The last part of the route you cycle along the Kromme Mijdrecht and along the nature reserve De Groene Jonker.
