Cycling through water-rich South Holland

From the north you cycle to Woerdense Verlaat, a hamlet that grew up around a lock in the Grecht. Further on, follow the small road that runs along the meandering Meije. Along this river you will see pollard willows, farms and the almost sixty meter high white water tower from 1932. You drive a bit along the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, after which you arrive in Ter Aar. Time for a nice coffee at MEEK Coffee & Foods. You cycle to Bilderdam via Langeraar. On the towpath you drive a bit along the Drecht and, after you have passed the Tolhuissluis from 1823, along the Amstel. From the saddle you have a beautiful view over the vast polders. The last part of the route you cycle along the Kromme Mijdrecht and along the Groene Jonker nature reserve.
