19. Zaandam - The Hague - Amstel Radler, Tour de Hollande

In just under 90 kilometers we drive from Zaandam first towards IJmuiden, from here it is down along the coast. In the Zuid Kennemerland National Park we arrive at the most famous mountain in the region; The Cup of Bloemendaal. It is an honor to have the fastest time on the Kopje to your name. A continuous battle between people like Dutch champion Niki Terpstra and journalist Thijs Zonneveld. We continue the sloping road through the dunes via Zandvoort, Noordwijk and Katwijk. Via Wassenaar we arrive in The Hague, birthplace of Joop Zoetemelk, who won the Tour de France in 1980. We symbolically take off our cycling caps for this world achievement. The finish today is just past Scheveningen, where the Tour started in 1973. Zoetemelk then won the prologue.
