The Tour of EigenWijze Tuinen introduces you to the diversity of various special gardens in the Veenkoloniën. The start of the cycle route is Lavender farm Ruitenborgh at Nieuwediep 58 in Nieuwediep. Here you will find a lavender garden with a unique scent station and you can enjoy the cozy lunchroom and coffee and tea room. www.lavendelboerderij.nl.
Continue towards Landgoed Tenaxx/de Handen Tuinen at Borgersiusweg 1 in Wedde. This is a unique park-like tree garden of 10 hectares with a survival run and boat pond. Coffee, tea and chilled soft drinks are available in the catering area of the Tenaxx estate. There are also cakes, sandwiches and various snacks for sale. www.landgoedtenax.nl
From here you leave for the ZomersBuiten campsite at Akkers 12 in Oude Pekela. This green campsite has an eco garden in which fruits and vegetables, herbs and flowers alternate. The next address on the route is Tuingoed Foltz at Hereweg 346 in Meeden. At this highly specialized nursery with a wide range of perennials, ornamental grasses, special shade plants, botanical rarities and more, you will also find beautiful gardens in a special atmosphere.

You continue your way to Theeschenkerij and Bamboo Nursery'de Vlinderij\\\' at Hellingwal 3 in Muntendam. The bamboo garden of the bamboo nursery is bordered by a beautiful ornamental garden with various types of ornamental grass and a large pond. After visiting the bamboo garden and the ornamental garden, you can relax in our tea room while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. www.devlinderij.nl
You will find a completely different garden at Het Loeg 29 in Muntendam. This is where the Sculpture Garden and Loes Koster Gallery are located. Loes Koster is a ceramist. She exhibits her work and that of other artists in a gallery and sculpture garden in Muntendam. www.keramischevormgeving.nl
One thing that should definitely not be missed in this tour of EigenWijze gardens is the Heemtuin Muntendam & Nature Park between the Fens. You can go on an adventure tour here every season. In the nature park you can experience the diversity of the landscape in this nature reserve with a very varied flora and fauna. The route ends at Theetuin de Kainstobbe at Wildervanksterdallen 10 in Wildervanksterdallen.
A beautiful nostalgic tea room has been set up for you inside the farm. A special historic coffee and tea collection is part of this interior.
