Description

This short route first takes you through the North Holland Dune Reserve. Initially, the dunes are still low. This is because the mouth of the Oer-IJ used to be here. After a while, you will see the dunes become rougher and higher. Some peaks are above 30 meters. A beautiful, but also quiet landscape to explore at your leisure from the saddle. From junction 30, you turn off towards Egmond aan den Hoef. Get off here to take a good look at the beautiful surroundings. The former Egmond Castle was demolished in 1798, the old castle chapel from 1431 is still there. Along the park-like west side of Heiloo, you cycle to Limmen, the center of bulb cultivation in this region. The route ends at De Oude Keuken.
