Liberation Route Alphen-Chaam

This route is offered to you by the municipality of Alphen-Chaam and takes you past special places with a connection to the Second World War. As part of the Liberation Route, 3 listening posts have been placed in the area. The listening posts are mechanically driven and tell you a story about where you are. This concerns the locations of the radar installation at Camp Bisam, a wartime doctor in Chaam and the execution site in the outskirts of Alphen. You will also pass Anneville, the estate where Queen Wilhelmina resided when Germany formally capitulated. In Alphen you can visit the cemetery where 18 Polish soldiers are buried who died during the liberation of Alphen by the Polish general Maczek.
You can start the route anywhere. Parking is best  in Chaam on the Wouwerdries or in Alphen at the Speelveld (near the sports hall) or the parking lot on Zandstraat.
