From Renesse to Goeree-Overflakkee

From Schouwen-Duiveland you drive up the Brouwersdam. It was completed in 1971 and is the seventh construction of the Delta Works. On Goerree-Overflakkee you drive along the Westduinen, a beautiful rugged landscape. During the Second World War, the Germans had put fake wooden planes here to deceive. When the RAF was informed by the resistance, it dropped two wooden bombs. While you drive further along the beach, you can get a breath of fresh air. You cycle through the dunes of Goeree, after which you visit Goedereede. What a picturesque village! Just below Ouddorp you pass De Schans, a former military fort from 1665. You drive back onto the Brouwersdam along the Grevelingenmeer. Via Scharendijk and Ellemeet you cycle back to Fiets aan Zee in Renesse.
