Tour of the Eastern Scheldt from Renesse

The Oosterschelde is not the first thing you think of when planning a cycling trip. Wrongly so, because it is wonderful to cycle around the banks. From Renesse you will be the first to drive through the Vroongronden, a nature reserve with dune grasslands, moist soils and creeks. You cycle through Haamstede and Burgh, two worth seeing villages. Boswachterij Westerschouwen is the largest forest in Zeeland, it is wonderfully quiet here. You drive over the Oosterscheldekering, where you can visit Deltapark Neeltje Jans. You can also enjoy views of the Oosterschelde on Noord-Beveland. You cycle through Colijnsplaat, via the Zeelandbrug you drive back to Schouwen-Duiveland. Between Zierikzee and Serooskerke you pass nature reserve De Prunje. The route ends at Fiets aan Zee in Renesse.
