Cycle through picturesque Maarssen, past the beautiful country estates on the Vecht to Slot Zuylen in Oud Zuilen. Oud Zuilen is located at the beginning of the Vechtstreek route.
The history of Zuylen Castle goes back more than 750 years. It starts around the year 1250. Then Steven van Zuylen built a keep along the Vecht, a square residential tower with walls 2.70 meters thick. The foundations were excavated during a restoration and are still visible in the terrace.
