Description
You will experience the rich nature and culture of Drenthe. First you will pass through Echten, where you can see several historic farms and a former manor house. Further on you will cycle along the Hoogeveensche Vaart. Here you will also find the Panjerd-Veeningen: a newly developed nature reserve that also serves as a water storage area. In times of heavy and extreme rainfall, no less than 800,000 m3 of water can be 'parked' here. Around Koekange you will cycle through a landscape that is typically divided into strips. On the Dorpsstraat you will see several monumental farms in art nouveau style. The last part of the route you will cycle through the fragrant forests of the Echtenerzand. How refreshingly quiet it can be in Drenthe!
